MARINA PUMP OUT INSTRUCTIONS
Open shed at the entrance to the docks, and turn on the pump out switch. You will see a red light come on outside the shed.
Listen for the Pump, which is located in the locked box at the head of the dock.
Get the pump out hose out of the electric meter cabinet.
Hook up the hose to one of the hydrants on the dock.
Make sure the ball valve is closed on the end of the hose and open the hydrant ball valve.
Now open your waste port on your boat. The vacuum should be sufficient to start pumping by the time your boat is ready.
Place the rubber nozzle in your waste port and hold it so you have a good seal for the vacuum.
Open the hose ball valve and watch the clear plastic check valve for flow.
When flow slows, close the ball valve and allow the vacuum to build back up.
When vacuum is good, open the ball valve again and watch your flow again.
Repeat those steps until your holding tank is empty.
After emptying the tank, drop the intake of the hose in the river with the ball valve open to pump water into the piping.
After about 5 gallons have flushed the line, pick up the hose and close the ball valve.
Back on the dock, open and close the ball valve as vacuum builds in between.
This will clear the line.
Now disconnect the line from the hydrant and hose it down to keep things clean and place it back in the meter cabinet and lock the cabinet.
Now open and close the hydrant a couple of times to clear the lines further then close the hydrant ball valve.
Go to the shed and turn off the switch.
Though this may sound involved, it is actually very easy and does not take that much time. A pump out will take 15 to 20 minutes of your time total, once you are familiar with the routine.
