What a beautiful day
yesterday was. Great Weather ! Blue Skies ! Comfortable Temperatures !
And "NICE" winds. PRYC competed in the 3rd set of races in
the Albemarle Challenge Cup. The Spinnaker Class set sail in the 1st
race at 11:00 AM. The last boat crossed the line in the Cruising Class
in the 2nd race at about 4:30 PM. Yours truly got to motor out with the
Race Committee. (We still have the best one around....thanks to Karen
Mathews! She trained us well !!!) Our guys did
well. But let's not get too complacent. There's one more BIG race at Edenton on Saturday, October 7th. I
have it from the highest authority that at this point we are in the lead to
retain the cup...but it's not ours yet. We need to have just as good a
turnout at Edenton as we had at Colington (if not
better). I'm learning more all the time about how the Challenge Cup is
scored. The more boats we have representing us the better our chances
are of gaining points. You don't have to come in 1st or 2nd to add to
our lead (although that does help too). We only had one boat in
"A" Class and one in Cruising yesterday. So go ahead guys
(and gals) mark it on your calendar - October 7th, 2006, PARTICIPANTS Jim
